Press Operator Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that Machine that is being operated is in a safe working order
  • Powers up log oven/extrusion press and pullers
  • Looks at press schedule and prepares billet oven and press accordingly
  • Once die is put into press by lead, begins to lead die out by building pressure on press
  • Ensures that metal is safely being transferred from press to pullers and then onto cooling table. At the end of each extrusion, makes sure that the butt of the billet is properly sheared off.
  • Ensures that Maximum pounds per hour are being achieved
  • Verifies that run out of metal will accommodate finished saw cut length with proper end scrap needed.
  • Documents all orders extruded onto press report and enters everything into our EPICS system on the computer.
  • Powers down log oven, extrusion press and pullers

Press Operator Shift/Pay Rate:
  • Monday - Saturday 2nd-2pm-10pm, 3rd- 10pm-6am

Positions start at $15.00 plus shift differential

What will you need in this Press Operator position?
  • Must be quality-minded and have strong attention to detail
  • Must possess ability to follow quality and safety standards
  • Must be able to stand for eight hour shift
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push and pull up to fifty pounds
  • Tool experience helpful
  • Inspection of parts
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Experience with using mechanical tools
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must pass a 10-panel drug test
