Job Description

Pay Rate: $15/hr

Assigned Work Location: Assigned Early Voting Sites

Hours: Standard 9: 30am 6: 00pm with the availability to work earlier, later and weekends

Anticipated Start Dates: February 24, 2020; July 27, 2020; October 12, 2020

Anticipated Assignment Length: Three weeks each election

Job qualifications:

  • An Associate s Degree and one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-specific competencies noted below

  • Working knowledge of a variety of software packages commonly used on personal computers

  • Working knowledge of personal computers, iPads, and printer equipment installation and routine maintenance requirements

  • Ability to install and perform routine maintenance on computer equipment, correct configuration errors, identify, analyze and resolve customer/user problems

  • Ability to understand, interpret and explain hardware and software application solutions to users

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Ability to train others in the use of computers and associated equipment

  • Ability to work extended days and weekends as needed, with little or no advance notice

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities with a proven ability to be flexible, work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on call environment with changing priorities

  • Job tasks involve frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping; unassisted lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects up to 50 lbs.

Illustrative job duties:

  • Work with team to setup early voting equipment at early voting sites

  • Provide technical support to poll workers at early voting sites

  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine problems iPads, software, and peripheral equipment to maintain equipment in an operational status

  • Perform daily checklist of election equipment at early voting site

  • Drive a vehicle to remote locations to deliver, pickup, install and/or troubleshoot equipment problems to ensure the operational readiness of equipment

  • Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system function specifications

  • Other duties as required
